One remarkable SMS which made me think...

Last week I received one SMS which really made me think about my beloved country...

"We live in a Funny Nation,
Where pizza reaches home faster than ambulence or Police.
Where you will get car loan at 12% and education loan at 12%. Nearly 88% victims of 26/11(as per aajtak news) didn't get even 50000, but every day nearly 10 laks get spent on kasab...
sad but true."

Call for Entries - Vasundhara Reflections 2010

'Vasundhara' will be an innovative attempt to explore nature & analyze topical issues relating to environment, wildlife, energy, air & water. It presents an opportunity to evolve common platform to work towards providing effective & meaningful communication material for preserving our great natural heritage for the coming generations. The message of the festival is to protect 'Vasundhara' (i.e. Earth) & leave a better world for the generations to come.

Call for Entries
- Entries are invited from photographers for a Non Competitive photography exhibition on following concepts:
1) Tiger through my Lens
2) Rare Wildlife Clicks
3) Save Vasundhara
4) Small and Sweet - animals, birds, flowers, insects, plants….

Individuals, institutions, organizations, NGOs and clubs are invited to participate. Last Date of Submission: 2nd February 2010
Entries can be submitted online on www.indiaart.com

Exhibition Entries Prerequisites
Entries will be accepted from 22nd Jan to 2nd Feb 2010. Entries can be sent only in electronic format (either by submitting the online form or in jpg / tiff format on a CD / DVD with Downloaded PDF form). Make sure that the image resolution and image size is adequate for enlargement upto a size of 16” x 20”

Exhibition of Select Entries
Exhibition of select entries will be held from 14th to 21st February 2010 at Yashwantrao Chavan Kala Dalan, Kothrud, Pune.
An online exhibition of select Entries will be available on www.indiaart.com from 14th February 2010 onwards.

Mallika Sarabhai:

Mallika Sarabhai is a Gujarat-based activist, development worker, social entrepreneur and performer working to bring forth ideas, issues and concerns to affect change.

A multifaceted individual, she celebrates positive reaffirmation of images of womanhood. She has used every medium-dance, theatre, television, film, writing and publishing-for her work, winning recognition in India and abroad.

Mallika was educated as an economist and a business manager from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad and obtained a PhD from the Gujarat University for her thesis in the area of Organizational Behaviour.

She is known as one of India's best-known Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi dancers who has taken her work and that of her company Darpana to over ninety countries of the world.
